The ability to help people, specially children around the world through my volunteering work and through my books.
What do you think is missing in today’s business environment?
Passion. I am so fortunate that I get to do something I am truly passionate about every day. In today's world, so many people are driven by the almighty dollar, instead of something that they are passionate about.
You can go anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
My wife and I always talk about how nice it would be to live in a small coastal town in Italy. The idea of a slower, less-hectic life, where we could walk to the market everyday and not have to rely on cars or technology is so appealing to us. Every day is stress free and our only focus is, "What are we eating today?"
What life experience best prepared you for executive responsibility?
Having grown up in a country with massive unemployment required that I leave to find success. The experiences I have gained in working and living in multiple countries has given me rare insights into what motivates people of different cultures. Being a leader means you need to understand people so that you give them what they need to be successful. Their success is your success.
